Pacana Park Pumpkin Walk & Pumpkin Decorating Contest

In addition to children and families coming out dressed in costume, we encourage families to bring a decorated pumpkin. Prizes will be awarded in several different categories including: “Funniest”, “Ingenious Use of Pumpkin”, “Spooookiest”, “Children’s (12 and under); and “Business/Organization” categories; “People’s Choice” will be chosen by all guests and “Best in Show” will be selected by judges among all entries!

Food trucks will be providing food and drinks for sale. This is a free marketing event for local vendors. The selling of items is prohibited during the event.

Vendors will receive a 10’ space (bring your own table/chairs) and should bring a minimum of 25 lbs of candy to hand out.

The deadline to register is October 24 so don't delay!

Pumpkin Decorating Contest Details: 

• Register at Pacana Park Wednesday, Oct. 30 between 12—4 p.m. Just show up with your decorated pumpkin. No pre-registration needed.  
• Submissions may not contain any content that is sexually explicit or suggestive, is unnecessarily violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, profession or age group. 
• Do not label your pumpkin, a number will be assigned at registration.
• Pumpkins not collected by 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 will be disposed of. 
• Participants may use carving kits or commercial stencils, however, handmade stencils or freehand carvings will earn more points in judging.
• Judging will take place between 4—5 p.m. and ribbons awarded prior to the Pacana Park Pumpkin Walk event. Winners will be notified via phone call.
• By entering the contest, participant agrees to allow his/her submission to be published on the official City of Maricopa and Copper Sky Recreation Center Facebook pages.
