Since 2014, Copper Sky Multigenerational Center has been providing sporting, fitness, leisure, and recreational amenities for the citizens of Maricopa and the surrounding areas. As the recreation destination of Maricopa, we take pride in the excellent services we offer that enhance Maricopa residents’ quality of life. Within our Facility, amenities of Membership include access to an open Multi-Use Gymnasium, our Fitness Floor with top-of-the-line equipment, an indoor Walking/Jogging Track, over 45 weekly Group Exercise Classes, our fun-filled Aquatic Center, Child Watch Programming, and more!

Multigenerational Center Rules
Please scan your key tag each time you visit the Facility. Your key tag is your own;
allowing someone else to check in as you may result in immediate termination of your
membership. Replacement key tags may be purchased at the Service Desk for $5.00.
Please be courteous to staff and other members at all times. Disrespecting others, use of
profanity, harassment and any other behavior considered inappropriate may result in
consequences such as: being asked to leave the facility, suspension of your membership,
and/or termination of your membership.
Members must follow all directions from staff and posted signage. Failure to do so may result in
being asked to leave the Facility or suspension of membership.
Appropriate attire is required at all times. Shirts (sweatshirts, t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, tank tops
& workout bras) are acceptable; Bottoms (pants, shorts, sweatpants, workout bottoms) are
acceptable. Clothing must not contain profanity or offensive imagery.
Closed-toe shoes must be worn at all times on the Basketball Court and on the Fitness Floor.
While working out, be courteous to other members. Carefully re-rack all weights, dumbbells,
barbells, etc. so they are ready for the next member. Allow other members to share
equipment while you are resting or between sets. Please refrain from “holding” equipment until
you are ready to use it, and please refrain from organizing large group training that would limit
other member’s access to equipment. There are only a certain number of weights and
machines for everyone to use, and your consideration is appreciated.
Please refrain from dropping or slamming weights or equipment on the Fitness Floor.
This is a danger to both you and other members, and may damage the equipment. Failure to
exhibit exercise caution will not be tolerated and will be addressed by staff immediately.
Professional Fitness Instruction (e.g. Personal Training, Group Training, Coaching, Swim Lessons,
etc.) is currently only authorized from City of Maricopa - Copper Sky Personal Trainers &
Instructors. Solicitation, sale, or peddling of goods or services is prohibited
according to City Policy 12.20.010.
No food of any kind is allowed on the Basketball Courts or the Fitness Floor.
Only water is allowed on the Basketball Courts.
Any other drinks on the Fitness Floor must be in a closed container.
Lockers are provided throughout the Facility for use during hours of operation.
Locks that are left on lockers will be cut off at the end of the day,
and the contents will be placed in Lost & Found.
Any Lost & Found items not picked up at the end of the month will be donated to charity.
The City of Maricopa and Copper Sky are not responsible for your lost or stolen property, nor
your personal belongings. It is your responsibility to protect your belongings.
We strive to keep this Facility neat and clean and need your help to do so.
Please throw away any trash in the provided receptacles.
Age Policy:
All guests under the age of 12 must be under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian,
aged 16 or older, at all times to use any first-floor amenities (i.e. Basketball Courts,
Aquatics Center) unless participating in a City or Membership Program.
Guests 12 to 16 years old, that are unaccompanied, must wear a wristband provided by the
Service Desk when using first-floor amenities.
Guests between the ages of 12 to 15 years old may use the Fitness Floor as long as they are
under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian, aged 18 or older at all times, and must
wear a wristband provided at the Service Desk. Guests 16-17 years old may use the Fitness
Floor unsupervised, but must wear a wristband provided by the Service Desk.
Any parent or guardian that has signed a child, aged 18 months to 12 years old,
in to the Child Watch Program must remain in the Facility for the entire duration
the child is in the Program.

Purpose
To replace City of Maricopa Policy Number: PRL 13.01: Copper Sky Terms of Use Policy with Copper Sky Code of Conduct. Copper Sky Multigenerational Center (CSMC) Code of Conduct is to promote behavior that allows everyone to utilize Copper Sky in a safe and respectful environment.Scope
This policy covers the City of Maricopa recreational facilities at Copper Sky Multigenerational Center.Summary of Changes:
The following changes have been made to the misconduct section to include updates on the photography/video, personal training, appearance, sexual misconduct, and personal hygiene violations.Policy
It is the duty of the Recreation staff to see that the rights of individuals to use the facility are upheld. Misconduct will not be allowed in Copper Sky Multigenerational Center. The staff is responsible for identifying incidents of misconduct and for policy enforcement. Any facility user that is in violation of misconduct, may be subject to exclusion/suspension from the facility. Exclusion length, including permanent exclusion or trespass, is at the sole discretion of the City of Maricopa. Questions regarding the interpretation of these guidelines will be referred to the Manager on Duty. DefinitionMisconduct is behavior that violates facility rules, facility code of conduct, is illegal, dangerous and leads to or could lead to injury, or interferes with individual rights to use the facility to the fullest.
Misconduct may include, but is not limited to the following:
1. Failure to comply with staff instruction in regard to City policy or facility rules
2. Verbal abuse or harassment of staff, volunteers, or public
3. Bullying/intimidation/threats/fighting
4. Disrespectful or disruptive behavior
5. Theft or vandalism; Littering
6. Possession or use of weapons in violation of city code 9.60
7. Alcohol, tobacco, or substance use
8. Sneaking into facilities/Refusal to leave the facility when instructed by staff
9. Damaging or mistreating equipment, including but not limited to; dropping or slamming of weights or machines or dunking a basketball/hanging on the rim
10. Using profanity/profane gestures/gang signing and colors
11. Taking pictures or videos in restrooms and locker rooms, taking pictures or videos in child watch, or taking pictures or videos for commercial use in any area of the facility without approval from Recreation Management
12. Use of multi-media beyond a personal level and without the use of headphones
13. Loitering, canvassing, or soliciting
14. Use of the facility for monetary gain or business ventures without approval from Recreation Management, regardless of whether a fee is charged to participant(s)
15. Monopolization of amenities including, but not limited to; full court games during open court or holding equipment on the fitness floor
16. Appearance deemed inappropriate or unsuitable for a specific activity or environment including profane or vulgar images, inadequate dress, accessories, personal items etc.
17. Entering the facility without proper attire. Closed toed shoes are required on the basketball court and fitness floor. Swimsuits are not to be worn inside the facility.
18. Consumption of food, gum, or beverages other than water on the basketball courts or the fitness floor
19. Rollerblading, skateboarding, scootering, or biking inside the facility
20. Being accompanied by an animal other than a service animal
21. Engaging in sexual misconduct including, but not limited to, inappropriate public displays of affection, voyeurism, or exhibitionism
22. Having neglected bodily hygiene, meaning hygiene that is offensive as to constitute a nuisance to staff or other members
Copper Sky Age Requirements
1. Guests under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the guest release and waiver2. Responsible parties are not permitted to leave the premise while a guest they are responsible for is on site.
a. While children are enrolled in the Child Watch program, a parent/guardian/authorized pickup person is required to remain on site
3. To utilize first floor amenities:
a. Guests 11 years of age and under must be under the direct supervision of an individual 16 years or older unless they are in Child Watch or participating in a City or Membership Program
b. Guests 12 years of age and older may utilize first floor amenities unsupervised but are required to wear the proper wristband
4. To utilize fitness floor:
a. Guests 11 years of age and under may not utilize the fitness floor
b. Guests 12 to 15 years of age must be under direct supervision of a parent-approved adult (18+ years of age) at all times and are required to wear the proper wristband
c. Guests 16 to 17 of age may use the fitness floor unsupervised but are required to wear the proper wristband
Personal Possessions Policy
The City of Maricopa is not responsible for lost or stolen possessions of patrons. Locks will be cut off and the contents of lockers removed nightly.
Appeals Process
Appeals to exclusion/suspension can be made to the Recreation Superintendent or designee.
Members of the public who need a reasonable accommodation or modification to a programs, service, or activity should submit this completed form, by mail or e-mail to the appropriate department.
