Online reporting can be utilized for the following non-emergency circumstances:  

  • Abandoned Vehicle 
  • Fraud 
  • Harassing Phone Call  
  • Identity Theft 
  • Lost Property 
  • Parking Problem 
  • Traffic Complaint

 IF A SUSPECT IS KNOWN, DO NOT FILE A REPORT ONLINE, PLEASE CALL 520-568-3673.

If you are unsure if your incident falls into one of these categories, please call MPD's non-mergency line 520-568-3673.


To file an online report, you will need to answer the following questions:  

  • Did the incident take place within the Maricopa city limits and the jurisdiction of the City of Maricopa Police Department?

 Yes – Continue. No - Please contact that area’s agency.  

  • Is this a violent crime?

Yes – Call 911. No – Continue with an online report.  

  • Are you older than 18?

Yes – Continue. No – Please call 520-568-3673. 

  • Do you need an officer to respond to your location?

Yes – call 911 or 520-568-3673. No – Continue.  

Note: Filing a false police report is a crime! Every person who knowingly makes a false report is guilty of a misdemeanor per 13-2907.01 of the Arizona Revised Statutes.   


Upon completion of this report process you will: 

  • See the words: "Your online police report has been submitted" showing that your police report has been sent to MPD. 
  • Be given a temporary police report number starting with the letter T.  
  • Be able to print a copy of the submitted report to keep for your records. 

Once a report is submitted, it will be reviewed by MPD staff within 72 hours (Monday – Thursday; business hours). Once reviewed an official report number will be emailed to the reporting party.
