Civil traffic citations can be resolved by choosing from the available options:

  1. Attend a Defensive Driving Course if eligible.
  2. Enter a plea of not responsible and request a Civil Traffic Hearing.
  3. Enter a plea of responsible and pay the fines and fees associated with your violations.

Information

You must respond to your citation on or before your arraignment date. You must appear in court unless you choose one of the options listed above prior to your scheduled arraignment date which can be found on the bottom right-hand corner of your citation.

Please be advised that from the date you receive your violation, it can take up to eight to ten working days for the citation to be filed with the court by the Police Department and entered into our system. Once it is filed and, in our system, you may then choose one of the options previously listed.

Additional information can also be obtained by downloading the Maricopa Municipal Court Fines & Fees Schedule.
