Maricopa became Arizona's 88th municipality when it was incorporated in October 2003. Over the last decade, it has become Arizona's fastest growing community, transforming from a quiet town of under 5,000 residents to a bustling city of more than 54,000 almost overnight. Situated at the epicenter of Maricopa and Pinal counties, the City of Maricopa's location offers a vibrant, family-friendly and favorable cost environment for people and business. Maricopans are among the most highly educated in the US, with 25 percent of our adults holding a bachelor's degree or higher and 70% of adults having attended some college including certificate programs and associate degrees.
